A zero-waste perfume experience inspired by vetiver

The idea was to work with mono materials with as few elements as possible to make recycling the object more accessible, while proving that it is possible to design a desirable object that is one of a kind.

We created Khus, an innovative concept based on the vetiver plant and its noble heritage. It was named in honor of the plant’s original name from North India. The plant can be used for the perfume formulation, the label, the cork, the cord, and the outer structure of the bottle. Through this symbolic plant, we tried to translate the story of its past into a link between the present and the future, inspiring society to reconnect with its roots, surroundings, and nature. It goes beyond the usage of a plant itself; certain elements are designed to respect ancestral traditions, such as the weaving of the dried vetiver rope, used around the neck of the bottle.
